We are currently using the NUGET version 6.2. If we want to upgrade to the 7.0, can we just upgrade our NUGET in VS or do we need to run the latest AlterNet installer and activate the license again?

You can upgrade nuget packages in your project to the latest version (v7), however you still need to have a correct license (which supports version 7) activated on your computer.
This can be done by running the LicenseActivation tool from the installation folder. This tool can also be downloaded separately (this way you will not need to install the whole product) from here:
